He has not shown an ability to take an attack. This is presidential politics, not an FFA parliamentary procedure competition. This is an election for the most powerful position on Earth. You damn well better be able take what you dish out. Currently the media is willing to fellate Barack Obama. You can impress the World with your speeches but you've got to be able to debate. Sadly there have been few interviews where he has had to speak off the cuff but that haven't been pretty. When the debates come around he is going to have to explain some pretty dicey positions. I'm not sure he will convince the voting public.

We'll see if I'm right. Personally I don't think it matters. Personally this eases some concerns for me. Phil Gramm, a former Senator from Texas and PhD of Economics, is a very smart and very conservative man. I've never been down on John McCain but I've been leery about his economic policies. Not for the reasons that all phony "conservatives" have been, I've just been uncertain of him in terms of economic policy. Knowing that he has Phil Gramm advising him tells me two things; he's smart enough to have Senator Gramm advise him and the advice he's getting is pretty damn good.

How Much the United States and the Freedoms She Allows Means To Me

To my potential relegation to the fiery pits of Hell I will say that there is one thing I put before Jesus Christ, my lord and savior; the United States of America. This one thing shall always be more important to me for one reason and one reason only. The existence of the United States will always ensure that humanity will be allowed to worship Jesus Christ as our lord and savior. The very first right that we as citizens of the United States enjoy is the freedom to worship in a way that suits us as individuals while not being forced any or no choice at all. For this reason I risk my acceptance to the kingdom of heaven in the eyes of my lord.

I have wrestled with this for a number of years now. My personal beliefs are complicated to say the least and at times even contradictory. Nevertheless I am a Christian and believe in Christ. Still, I feel that the preservation of my right to worship is more important that the substance of that which I do worship.

I feel that the message of Christ will always have a place within the hearts of humanity just as many other messages will. The ability to worship in a manner that we as humans and citizens of the United States feels are right will in fact guarantee this. Once one religion is officially given preference over another however, this right will cease to exist.

This said the United States was founded on principles dear to that of Christianity. These very principles allow the beliefs in other religions as well as none at all. This is why we as the United States must maintain a secular government free from the judgment of any spiritual being and led by the wisdom and humanity of man. This secularism will allow the freedom of all religions without accommodation.

Our responsibility as Americans is to ourselves and those who long to be free. That freedom, though embodied with many things is defined by our freedom of worship. Truly those who seek the freedoms that America offers must understand that nobody is above another in the eyes of our constitution.

The Second Amendment Debate

Today the Supreme Court of the United States heard an argument about the right to own handguns in Washington D.C. In terms of the rights of gun ownership I can only direct you to the Second Amendment itself.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

I'm sorry but I just don't get it. I think that there should be absolutely no debate about this. The amendment clearly states that the "state" has the right to defend itself with an armed force while the "people" can own guns as well. I'll list the amendment one more time and notice the comma between the words state and the (the second comma).

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

This sentence was punctuated in a very clear manner. According to Fox News, aides close to Mr. Spitzer are suggesting that his wife is standing behind him and propping him up to stay in office. This is mad.
Let's just assume the best and Mr. Spitzer has one encounter with a hooker in a Washington Hotel (possibly forgivable). I think that is safe to assume based on the national media's reporting. The moral and legal implications are obvious, but for his wife to be standing behind him and supporting him. What the hell? I don't mean to attack Silda while she's down but come on. The bastard should quit, his wife should leave him, then he should be sent to consider his actions in the Big House (I don't mean in Ann Arbor).
David Vitter (R) LA, recieved a phone call from an escort service and his own party ran him out of town. Larry Craig bumped shoes with a undercover male hooker, and his own party ran him out of town.
The apologists on the left including Mr. Spitzer's wife are destroying this country in both policy and fiber. I have alluded to this in the past, but this is ridiculous. As stated previously, there is absolutely no personal responsibility on the left.

Who Said Voting Couldn’t Be Marginalized?

By: Jeremy Nayfa
As this election season drags on and gets more hairy in the Democratic primary I would like to make one point. If the Democratic Party awarded delegates to the winner and only the winner I feel like there wouldn’t be an issue right now. I ask everyone, am I wrong?

For the life of me I can’t understand why these contests award split pledged delegates and allow super delegates to play the type of role they do. Do these super delegates think they know better than the voters? It seems that way to me. In the simplest terms, a candidate with more wins and pledged delegates can lose because the super delegates supported a candidate with less. Does this make sense to anyone else? I get the whole tradition thing but seriously? It seems to me that it’s time to lie in the bed that was made.

There isn’t a simple fix right now. People on both sides are going to be pissed in some way and the party is going to suffer. Two weeks ago I thought that Barack Obama was going to run away with everything. If the Democrats aren’t careful they’re going to dash the hopes for November at the convention.

Florida and Michgan to vote again?

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/03/05/congressman-calls-special-meeting-to-discuss-fla-mich-delegate-dispute/

This is one of the biggest issues with the Democratic Party and liberals in general. They accept no accountability for their actions. There is no responsibility for their decisions. It also explains the majority of their opinions on major issues. With liberals, there is no personal responsibility. I have said this before and I will say it again. We as a country have not, and I don’t know if we ever will, recover from the Hippie Movement of the 60’s and 70’s. Free love isn’t free; somebody has to foot the bill.

You see this time and time again with Liberals and Democrats. Look at some of the major issues and the opinions of the Dems on those same issues:

Abortion – Classic case of no personal responsibility, if you get knocked up, you get rid of the kid, easy. And before you start, there are circumstances beyond the control of the mother and these are unfortunate, but not nearly as common as the pro-choice groups would have you believe.

Immigration – Another classic, no penalty for entering this country illegally. Free ride. Amnesty.

Economy (Specifically the mortgage crisis) – You take out a bad loan or you give a bad loan, too bad, deal with the consequences. If this means you lose your house, tough. If this means the bank falters, tough. If this means this country falls into a recession or worse, then we should live to learn from our mistakes.

Wars (Iraq and Afghanistan) – You threaten our country or you bomb us on our own soil, the Dems want to cut and run. I say we bomb them back, and we continue to bomb them until we see the white flag, and it’s not us waving it.

Welfare – At what point to we determine, that your providing for your family is your responsibilty. I think with the working poor, there is some room for help because somebody has to bag my groceries, but if you're not working, don't come looking for me to support you.

Universal Healthcare – I pay for my own.

The left doesn’t believe in personal responsibility. They believe in things like welfare and universal healthcare. Don’t get me wrong, I believe in the Golden Rule and am as concerned as the next guy about the wellbeing of my fellow Americans, but this is why I give 10% of every penny earned to charity. That is my choice. It’s not legislated, I do it because I have a responsibility to my fellow man.

My point is this; the Democratic National Party warned the respective parties of Michigan and Florida that if they changed the date of their primaries solely in order to get in on the early action, then the DNC would not recognize those states delegates. In my opinion, this is how it should stand, what’s done is done. You’ve made your bed, now lie in it. However, before all is said and done, Florida and Michigan will vote again, and there will be no consequences for their actions.
